ICU

The ICU with 18 beds both medical and surgical meeting all standards has been set up with modern facilities like invasive and non-invasive ventilator support, fully equipped with central O2 system, ABG and bedside dialysis facilities. The ICUs are manned round the clock by critical care consultants, dedicated nursing staff and technicians with specialized qualification, experience and training in critical care services.

Surgery Department

St. Joseph's Hospital's Surgery Department has some of the most well-known surgeons. The unit proud of having well experienced technicians with ongoing update training in open and laparoscopic surgery who are committed to provide ethical and evidence based surgical options to patients. The Department is equipped with high definition laparoscopic instruments and provides a wide variety of open and laparoscopic procedures for abdominal surgeries related to gallbladder, appendix, uterus and various types of hernias etc. Surgeries related to neurology, paediatric, urology, ortho, obsteretic, ENT, eye, and plastic surgery are being done in the operation theatre.

Pathology & Blood Bank with Components

The Department of pathology and blood bank at St. Joseph's Hospital has most advanced procedures in diagnostic services. The pathology includes various departments like Hematology, Bio-Chemistry, Serology, Microbiology, Cytology, Histopathology And Blood Bank. The Department of transfusion medicine (Blood Bank) provides leuko-depleted RBC, platelet concentrate, fresh frozen plasma and cryo-precipitate. The aim of the department is to promote use of various components to ensure optimum utilization of blood and also to ensure that the patient receives the safest possible blood by testing for various markers by well qualified personnel in the subject.

Radiology and Imaging

The Department of Radiology and Imaging aims to ensure quality procedures, reporting and instant availability to patients. In order to deliver the most efficient and precise diagnostic services, St. Joseph's Hospital has put in place the latest and cutting edge technology and infrastructure. The Department offers services like digital X-Ray, Ultrasound, Colour Doppler, 2D Echo, ECG, with excellent viewing quality for accurate reporting and diagnosis.

Physiotherapy

The physiotherapy department is fully equipped with almost all modern modalities like short wave diathermy, inter ferential therapy, laser therapy, UST and traction units. Here we treat all kinds of patients with neurological and orthopaedic ailments even for post natal care and obesity related ailment. Along with all electrotherapy modalities it is embedded with exercise therapy equipment like pulley, shoulder wheel, finger ladder static bicycle, manual treadmill, finger exercise and gym ball etc. we have an unit of neurodevelopment techniques to treat cerebral palsy (CP) child, mentally retarded children and patients with muscular dystrophy.

Dialysis

Department of dialysis is fully equipped with four latest haemodialysis machines, and qualified and experienced doctor and staff.

Pharmacy

Department of pharmacy provides medicines, medical supplies and essential surgical items to the patients of St. Joseph's Hospital for both out patients as well as inpatients. The staffs serving in this department are professionally qualified and trained. Patients are treated with respect and care.

Pastoral care and counselling

Pastoral care is a model of emotional and spiritual support to the patients and their families to cope with the ailment and the treatment to get total healing. Regular visit to all the admitted patients to listen, to render support, to feel encouraged are done. Special prayers are offered to both prior to and after the surgeries for patients.

Social Work Department

The department of social work, focuses on social, psychological and economic aspects in order to assist them with proper guidance and support in the hospital. Awareness programs are conducted at different intervals for the staff and patients on various health related topics. Free medical camps and outreach programs in different localities and schools are being conducted. Community development project is a recent effort to bring changes among the less privileged and marginalised on their health and hygiene, education, need of the child, youth and women. A tailoring class centre is started where adolescent girls and women for economically poor to assist them to be self-reliant in this community.
